Caffeine

Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the methylxanthine class widely used in energy drinks. It increases activity in the brain and nervous system. It also increases the circulation of chemicals such as cortisol and adrenaline in the body. In small doses, caffeine can make people feel refreshed and focused. People may drink beverages containing caffeine to relieve or prevent drowsiness and to improve cognitive performance.
